What the swell looked like at creation
This was a big one off the Aleutians. Pressure and fetch are
impressive, indicated on the plot. Even though it came from
2000 nautical miles away, the swell was thick and heavy,
peaking between 10 and 12 foot, 20 seconds. It ran into a
little bit of leftovers from the previous swell. The middle
plot above is the Outer Oregon buoy because the California buoy
was in for servicing. Angle was 275-290 degrees (started at
290, then moved more due westerly with time).
